A country house wedding in Wyresdale Park

“A barn to tie the knot, a barn to feast, and a barn to dance”

Kara and Joel’s wedding in Wyresdale Park was an absolute rollercoaster of a day.

It was a day of family, laughter, and love-heart sunnies. There was elegant styling, gorgeous florals and a bridal look *to die for*. There was even a dog called Diesel (and you know how much we love a dog!)

And to top it all off, it took place in one of the most beloved country house wedding venues in Lancashire- Wyresdale Park.

With high energy all day, a photo-perfect boat trip, and a wild party to finish the night, this really was a stunner of a day.

If you’re dreaming of a wedding in Wyresdale Park, come take a look. And prepare to be seriously inspired!

The sassiest (and cutest!) wedding planner in Wyresdale Park

Our story begins in the stylishly comfy rooms of Wyresdale Park House.

Diesel the fur baby pitter-pattered around the kitchen. There was hot tea, and chilled champagne. And- dressed in silk green pyjamas- the sassiest wedding planner in Wyresdale Park was giving orders…

Her name was Ellie, and she’s three.

Honestly though, Kara and Joel’s daughter Ellie had us all in stitches! She was like an adorable little wedding planner! (Oh, and she loved Liv. They were absolute besties all day! Liv even got to share her blueberry platter!)

Ellie wanted her hair and makeup done. So Kara and the girls pretended to do it for her. She wanted to try her mum’s dress on too, but toddlers, blueberries and wedding dresses don’t mix!

The perfect bridal look for a wedding in Wyresdale Park

Kara wore the spectacular figure-hugging Courtenay from Elysee.

The floral embroidered lace, the plunging illusion lace back, the dramatic skirt…that really is one hell of a dress! She completed the stunning look with a cathedral-length veil, elegant makeup, and a gorgeous bouquet of white roses and eucalyptus.

(Ellie wore an adorable flower girl dress, and completed the look with a headband of gypsophila; Diesel wore a forest-green bowtie!)

When Kara was ready, she took one last look in the mirror, and made her way down the staircase to where her uncle was waiting for their first look.

He’d flown in from New Zealand to give her away. And honestly, it was just one of *those* moments. The kind of moments you’ll never forget.

And we have to admit…after a morning of almost non-stop laughter, we both got a little misty behind the camera!

A barn to tie the knot

The Ceremony Barn in Wyresdale Park is a truly gorgeous space. The incredible light, rustic grey stone, and clean white walls…it’s a beautiful blend of modern elegance and rustic charm. And it’s just perfect for wedding photography!

Ivy hung from the wooden beams above. And behind the altar, an ancient oak table sagged beneath the weight of white roses and gypsophila.

The ceremony was intimate, and heartfelt. Kara and Joel kissed as soon as they saw each other! They laughed, and held hands all the way through. And as a little ‘I want to get involved too!’, Diesel got loose mid-way through the vows and went and sat on the back of Kara’s dress!

It was such a wonderful ceremony. And as they walked back down the aisle together as husband and wife, they stopped for a kiss. And sealed the deal mid-aisle with a classic Hollywood dip!

Wyresdale Park wedding photography on the lake

Kara and Joel walked through the atrium amidst a flurry of confetti. The cheers and applause filled the space, and echoed out into the sunny courtyard.

There were drinks, love-heart sunnies, and group-shots on the cobbles. And while everyone was drinking and playing cornhole in the sunshine, we disappeared with Kara and Joel. And took a walk through the trees and down to the lake.

Now can we just say…if you’re having your wedding in Wyresdale Park, a boat trip is an absolute must!

You clamber in the boat together, push off, and sail out onto those gently lapping waters. And there, on a gunmetal lake, on the edge of the Forest of Bowland, you’ll find it. That rarest of things……

A pocket of absolute privacy on your wedding day.

With no one around- not even us!- you get to chat, laugh, talk about your day. And just be together, all alone as a newly-married couple. It’s insanely romantic.

(Oh, and please don’t let the fact Joel very nearly tipped the boat put you off!)

A barn to feast

The White Barn in Wyresdale Park is an epic space for your reception dinner. Towering ceilings, exposed oak beams. And let’s not forget, that ‘ready-made for your big-entrance’ balcony! It’s an amazing canvas for your styling.

And K&J styled it beautifully. Gorgeous white roses overflowed from the balcony, and filled the centre of each table. The stationary was modern; in gold, white and eucalyptus.

They had a nude buttercream cake, with alternating wooden tiers. And as a wonderfully personal touch, a cake topper of the whole family (Diesel included!)

The space was gorgeous, the speeches were hilarious, the food was immensely tasty!

And as the firepits crackled to life outside, we grabbed a few bottles from the bar and headed out into the dusk.

Champagne spray and some high energy group shots

Whether we’re shooting your wedding in Wyresdale Park, Windermere, or Wigan, we’ll always grab you and your besties for some high-energy group shots! And that’s just what we did…

Joel got absolutely launched into the air by the lads! We had smoke bombs, champagne sprays, and some pretty questionable dance moves!

Those guys were such a laugh, so much fun, and totally up for anything. And we love that we got to give them photos that capture that awesome energy they have as a group.

A barn to dance

The music was playing, Kara’s ‘wifey’ jacket was on. The vibes flowed thanks to the fantastic Lazy Marmalade. And the party had officially started!

Joel and his family are Jewish. So they had the traditional Hora (chair) dance, which we LOVED! The dance-floor was electric, there was limbo, sweaty shapes, and a river of champagne!

And when the sun had well-and-truly set, we all poured out into the courtyard for sparklers to finish the night.
